BIOWRAP is scaling up a industrial production line for 100% paper-based bubble wrap,
which is compostable and fully recyclable in standard paper streams.
About BIOWRAP
Constructi BIOWRAP is a Flagship project of CBE JU (Circular Bio-based Europe), funded under Horizon Europe.

Unter the leadership of Paper, an international consortium from industry ans research is working on the development of industrial-scale production of a sustainable packaging alternative. The consortium members are mapping out the entire value chain, including alternative raw materials ans consumer research.
The Objektive
Construction of a TRL-8 facility for PapairWrap, the patented alternative to plastic bubble wrap, which guarantees 1.6 times better product protection at the same price.
At the right time
Regulatory requirements such as the EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) make recyclable alternatives mandatory. Companies are setting themselves internal sustainability targets. BIOWRAP aims to develop sustainable solutions suitable for industrial use to meet this need.
